Tournaments

Monsoons Tournaments - 2026

Here are our tentative dates for 2026 tournaments:


Indoor:
- North Queensland Cup Juniors (Year 12 and Under Boys and Girls divisions): 7-8 March in Townsville 
- North Queensland Cup Seniors (Open Mens and Womens): 21-22 March 1 in Townsville
- North Queensland Schools Cup: 16-17 May in Townsville
- Townsville Classic Juniors (Year 12 and Under Boys and Girls divisions): 19-20 August in Townsville
- Townsville Classic Seniors (Open Mens and Womens): 12-13 Sept in Townsville

Beach:
- Great Barrier Reef Challenge (Townsville): TBC

Teams Traveling for Tournaments

Each year, the Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club sends teams to various tournaments across Queensland and Australia. To ensure clarity and fairness, it is important that all club members and officials understand the protocols around competing in travelling teams. 

Authorised Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club Teams
• Tournaments: Teams competing in tournaments that require affiliate status (e.g., those run by Volleyball Queensland, Volleyball Australia, etc.) may only compete under the Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club name or as recognized affiliates of the club if approved by the Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club Board of Executives.
• Unauthorised Representation: Teams or athletes who are not authorized by the Monsoons Board of Executives to represent the club must obtain a Player Clearance to compete as part of another club or as an unaffiliated team (see "Player Clearance" below for more details).

Financial Obligations
• Outstanding Debts: Athletes must not have any outstanding debts with the Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club related to its events, programs, or functions, unless they meet specific criteria outlined in the note below.
• Payment Plans: Athletes selected for Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Representative Teams with outstanding debt must have a payment plan approved by the Monsoons Volleyball Board of Executives before traveling.
• Player Transfers: Athletes seeking Player Transfers (temporary or permanent) to compete for an unaffiliated team, or another club will not be approved until all outstanding fees are paid in full. No exceptions will be made to this rule.
Player Clearance
• Clearance Application: Athletes or teams seeking temporary or permanent clearance to compete for another club or as an unaffiliated team must complete Volleyball Queensland’s "Player Clearance Application" form, via this link (click here).
• Transfer Process: Protocols for seeking player clearance can be found in the Volleyball Queensland "VQ Player Transfer Process" document, available via this link (click here).
• Time Constraints: Please note that Townsville Monsoons Volleyball Club and its administrative staff are not responsible for delays due to late applications. Applicants are advised to seek approval early to ensure applications are processed on time or to receive timely advice for obtaining approval.
